چکیده
The aim of the article is to numerically model a two-dimensional multiphase flow based on volume fluid method (VOF) in pulsating heat pipe (PHP). current state knowledge regarding modeling these devices was studied and summarised. proposed developed within open source software, OpenFOAM, predefined solver called interPhaseChangeFoam. analyses were carried out terms influence four different mass transfer models between phases, by Tanasawa, Lee, Kafeel Turan, Xu et al. shape dynamics internal structures. numerical validated against data obtained from specially designed experimental setup, consisting three bends pipes. calculations with ethanol being treated as working medium initial boundary conditions taken directly measurement procedures. variable input parameter for flux implemented evaporation section fixed temperature applied condensation section. structures compared discussed gained studies employing high speed camera. In addition, verify quantitative results data, technique particle image velocimetry (PIV) used velocity vector field. For analysed ranges, relative error reached at level 10%.

Investigation of Laminar Pulsating Nanofluid Flow and Heat Transfer in a Rectangular Channel
In this study, two-dimensional pulsating unsteady flow of nanofluid through a rectangular channel with isothermal walls is investigated numerically. The set of resultant algebraic equations is solved simultaneously using SIMPLE algorithm to obtain the velocity and pressure distribution within the channel. The effects of several parameters, such as volume fraction of different nanoparticles, Rey...

abstract weirs are the most common structures for discharge measurement in engineering research. streamline curvature, non hydrostatic pressure distribution on weir and nappe adherence to the weir lead to differences between calculated and measured discharges. thus discharge coefficient, which is the ratio of real and theoretic discharges, is usually less than unity. in circular weirs the press...

A numerical and experimental investigation of flow and heat transfer in a gas- liquid Thermosyphon Heat Exchanger "THE" with built in heat pipes and aluminum plate fins for moderate Reynolds numbers has been carried out. It's module is composed of 6 rows and 15 columns copper pipes with aluminum plate fins with dimensions of 130cm height, 47cm width and 20cm depth. The tubes have been fill...
متن کاملModeling of A Single Turn Pulsating Heat Pipe based on Flow Boiling and Condensation Phenomena
Demand for high-performance cooling systems is one of the most challenging and virtual issues in the industry and Pulsating heat pipes are effective solutions for this concern. In the present study, the best predictor correlations of flow boiling and condensation are taken into account to model a single turn pulsating heat pipe mathematically. These considerations, result in derivation of more ...
